​Literacy Grant Opportunity - State Budget Line Item Clearly Says Dyslexia!

“... that funds shall be expended on programs proven to be effective for students with dyslexia.”
We received this version - as the final version of the Literacy Grant Line Item of the state budget.

For a literacy and early literacy grant program; provided, that not less than $300,000 shall be expended for Reading Recovery; provided further, that not less than $339,500 shall be expended for the Bay State Reading Institute; provided further, that programs receiving funding through this item shall provide ongoing evaluation and documentation of outcomes to the department of elementary and secondary education; provided further, that not less than $10,000 shall be expended to On the Move, Inc.; provided further, that not less than $15,000 shall be expended to the Rockland public schools district for teacher training to develop and support an English language learner program; provided further, that not less than $15,000 shall be expended for Hanover public schools district teacher training to develop and support an English language learner program; provided further, that evaluations shall be compared to measurable goals and benchmarks developed by the department of elementary and secondary education;
and provided further, that funds shall be expended on programs proven to be effective for students with dyslexia
